The feng shui measuring tape is widely used by feng shui practitioners. There are auspicious and inauspicious dimensions, and those who make regular use of a feng shui ruler or measuring tape can measure their tables, desks, cupboards, windows and doors to check if the dimensions are auspicious or inauspicious. At home, you can use it to measure the length, breadth and heights of rooms, doors and furniture to determine the dimensions and proportions that will encourage good fortune. At the office, you can also use it to measure the proportions of your work desk, business name cards, logo or business name plaque to encourage better profits, better sales and improved performance.
We usually see Feng shui rulers divided into eight sequences of dimensions. You will notice four auspicious sections (indicated with red ink) and four inauspicious sections (marked with black ink) on the ruler. Each segment measurement is equivalent to 43 cm and will repeat every segment.
Apart from that, you can also find two markings of measurements on the top and bottom of the ruler. We use the top section to measure Yang houses, meaning our living space, while the bottom is for measuring Yin houses like coffins and graveyards.
